Suji or Semolina halwa Ingredients:
1. 1/2 cup Suji or semolina (coarse)- 120 gms
2. 1/2 cup (grounded sugar)- 120 gms
3. 11/2 cup water
4. 1/2 cup ghee – 120 ml
5. Sliced Almonds small quantity
7. Chopped almonds small quantity
6. Cashews – small quantity (chopped )
7. Kishmish ( green raisins)-small quantity dipped in hot water for 5 minutes and taken out
8. 1/4 tspn green cardamom (choti Ilaichi) powder
Preparation method:—-
1) Fill the pot with 1 1/2 cup of water and put on the flame to boil , When water starts boiling put sugar and mix well and off the flame
2)Pre- heat Karahi and pour ghee to melt on medium flame
3) Once the ghee starts melting and it is hot , put all the dry fruits to roast for a minute and take out (except raisins )in a plate.
4)While roasting flame is on medium to low
5)In the remaining ghee , put suji to roast on medium flame
6)After five minutes suji is roasted but go on stirring while roasting.
7)Suji should be very little golden brown and ghee will start oozing out
8) At this point, add boiled water with sugar carefully and slowly . And mix well and go on stirring then add some roasted dry fruits , cardamom powder and go on mixing well
9)Let suji soak the water in few minutes and then dish out the tasty halwa.
10)Garnish with remaining roasted dry fruits and raisins and enjoy the yummy- yummy halwa.
11)It serves 4-5 persons Note: Dry fruits and raisins are optional
